Grow a garden
with every commit.

Every commit you push to a repository where the GitHub App is installed, on any branch, once per commit sha. We call these tracked commits. GitHub's profile graph is stricter (default branch only, linked email, no forks, up to 24 hours delay), so the two numbers can differ.

No. GitHub requires the “Contents: read” permission to send push events, so the app asks for it, but we never fetch your files. For each commit we store only the sha, the timestamp and the repository id. We never store messages, diffs or file names.

Only the ones you choose when installing the GitHub App: all repositories or a selection. You can change that any time in your GitHub settings.

Daily side quests reward you with gems: 10 commits in a day gives 1, 25 commits gives 3, and pushing to 3 different repositories in one day gives 1 more. Spend a gem to grow the plant you are growing by one step, up to full growth, and at most twice a day. A gem you spend goes with the plant if it withers.

If you committed yesterday but not yet today, your plant is thirsty and the streak is still alive. If a whole day passes with no commit, the plant you are growing withers and the streak resets. Fully grown plants stay in your garden, your best streak is kept, and the next commit starts a new sprout.

At midnight in your own time zone. It defaults to your browser's zone and you can change it in Settings, which recalculates your days.

Yes: Google or an email link. You then connect GitHub from the dashboard. One GitHub account can belong to one Commit Garden account.

In Settings you can disconnect GitHub, after which new pushes are no longer counted, or delete your account, which removes everything we hold.
